When I bother to take myself from the center of the stage, the next performer can take that place. I have performed the best I can, but the next performer is You. I am standing in the wings watching the Master perform and I am in awe of what You can do. I pray that Your performance never ends. You can magnificently do that which I attempt to do and fail to do, or what I don’t have strength, courage or wisdom to perform.
If I stay on the stage, the audience gets mediocre at best. If I take my bow, and move to the wings, the audience, which now includes me, gets the very best of everything there is. The audience, which now includes me, is on their feet, clapping and praising what You are doing and I add my “Encore, Encore!” to theirs.
This can only happen if I get off the stage, and bow my Master onto the stage.
